Life Skills
As part of the Pastoral Care provision, all pupils at Elizabeth College study our Lifeskills course throughout their time at the College. This subject is intended to enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. The course covers Personal, Social and Health Education and aspects of Citizenship. Both of these subjects are very much interlinked and have a broad relationship with many subjects throughout our curriculum.
Lifeskills is intended to equip pupils with the tools needed to lead successful and healthy lives, both personally and in their chosen career. In order to achieve this a number of themes are studied throughout each year group. Pupils study a wide range of issues including finance, relationships, nutrition, morality, first aid, diversity, politics, the justice system, safe internet use, employment and sexual health throughout their time at the school. In years 10 and 11, pupils study for a GCSE in Citizenship; this course offers a great insight into the world and enables pupils to offer their opinions and ideas on specific topics.
