GCSE Results 2011
Elizabeth College pupils have once again achieved highly impressive results in their GCSE examinations with a fantastic 56% of results graded at A* or A.
This year’s grade A*-C pass rate was 94.2% and the great majority of boys took GCSEs in 10 or 11 subjects. Over half achieved at least six A* or A grades and a quarter achieved ten or more A* or A grades.
Within these results there were some outstanding individual performances:
• One pupil – Oliver Yerby – gained an amazing 15 A* passes, including French, German, Greek, Latin, Latin Literature and Russian.
• Two other boys achieved 12 and 11 A*s respectively.
It is particularly encouraging that this academic success has been achieved in tandem with wide involvement in extra curricular activities such as music, sports, drama, CCF and outdoor pursuits.
