Entry to Elizabeth College

The principle ages for admission into the senior section of Elizabeth College are 11 and 16. However, there are often vacancies for entry at other ages. Candidates for entry at age 11 (year 7) sit an entrance test held in early March prior to entry in September. The entrance test comprises papers in English and Mathematics plus an age-standardised NFER test.

Entry into the Sixth Form, at 16, is based upon GCSE results. Candidates are required to gain a minimum of five C grades, but usually have superior GCSE grades in the subjects they intend to follow at AS level. If you are considering Sixth Form entry please contact College before the receipt of GCSE results to discuss available subject choices.
Entry to College at other ages is by tests adapted to the candidate's age and/or by interviews with senior College staff. A registration form, prospectus and further information about entrance procedures are available from the Principal's PA.

Parents and prospective pupils are encouraged to visit Elizabeth College prior to making an application.

The College Open Day is usually held on the morning of the first Saturday in October. However, parents and prospective pupils are welcome to tour College at any time and if you wish to do so please contact the Principal's PA to arrange an appointment (see Contact Us section for details).
